Priya Prashant Assumes Role as Vice Principal at Leelavati Institute of Hotel Management and Business Studies

Priya Prashant has recently been appointed as the Vice Principal at Leelavati Institute of Hotel Management and Business Studies in Maharashtra. With a rich and diverse background in hospitality education, Priya brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence to her new role.

Before her appointment as Vice Principal, Priya served as an Academic Advisor at EVANIH, where she provided strategic guidance and support to students and faculty alike. Her experience in higher education is further demonstrated by her role as Program Coordinator at Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Navi Mumbai, where she was instrumental in curriculum development and academic planning.

Priya's career also includes significant teaching roles. She served as an Assistant Professor for Food Production at D.Y. Patil University, School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies in Navi Mumbai, where she educated and mentored the next generation of hospitality professionals. Her tenure as a Lecturer at ITM Group of Institutions in Navi Mumbai and IIAS in Goa further highlights her dedication to nurturing talent in the hospitality sector.

In addition to her academic roles, Priya has held positions as an Instructor at the American Hotel & Lodging Association in Kharghar and at the Sanjay School for Special Education in Goa. Her experience also includes consulting and training roles, such as her work with Sher E Punjab Restaurants in Goa, where she contributed to improving service standards and operational efficiency.

Priya's early career in the hospitality industry included roles as an Assistant F&B Executive at Hotel Nova De Goa and as a Junior Executive at Hotel Mandovi in Panjim. These positions provided her with valuable hands-on experience in hotel operations, which she now applies in her academic roles.

Her educational background is equally impressive, with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hospitality and Tourism from Shri JJT University. She also holds a Master’s in Tourism Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University, an EPBM in Hospitality Management and Human Resource Management from IIBM Institute of Business Management, and a Diploma in Hotel Management from IHM Goa, IHMCTAN.

In addition to her formal education, Priya has pursued various specialized certifications, including a Certificate in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics from Rucchi's Balance Diet Clinic, a Food Safety Supervisor certification from FOSTAC, and a Thai Cooking Course from Udemy. She also completed a Teaching Learning Assessment course from Queen Margaret University, further enhancing her teaching capabilities.
