Arancini
Balls are a delightful Italian treat, perfect for indulging in the rich flavors
of risotto and cheese. Here's how to prepare them:
Ingredients:
- 8 cups
pre-made chilled Risotto
- 100 gm
Parmesan Cheese, cut into ½” chunks
- ¾ cup
thawed Peas
- 1 cup
all-purpose Flour
- 3 large
Eggs, whisked
- 2 cups
Breadcrumbs
- Sea Salt
and Pepper to taste
- 2 cups
Pomodoro Sauce
- Refined
Oil for frying
Method:
1. Take
chilled risotto and place a portion in your hand. Add some chunks of Parmesan
cheese and thawed peas to the center.
2. Shape
the risotto into a golf ball-sized ball, ensuring the cheese and peas are
enclosed within. Repeat this process until all the ingredients are used.
3. Prepare
a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with
whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
4. Roll
each arancini ball in the seasoned flour, ensuring it's evenly coated. Then dip
it into the whisked eggs, followed by rolling it in breadcrumbs, ensuring each
ball is thoroughly coated.
5. Heat
refined oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the arancini balls
in batches until they turn golden brown and the cheese has melted in the
center. This typically takes about 3-4 minutes per batch.
6. Once
fried, transfer the arancini balls to a plate lined with paper towels to drain
any excess oil.
7. Serve
the fried arancini balls alongside a meat or meatless tomato sauce for dipping.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a burst of flavor.
These
crispy, cheesy arancini balls are sure to be a hit at any gathering or as a
delicious appetizer for your Italian-themed meal.
