Aswini Gopalakrishnan has been appointed as the Sous Chef at Vivanta by Taj - Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai, marking another significant milestone in her extensive culinary career. With a wealth of experience spanning across various reputed hospitality establishments, she brings a unique blend of culinary expertise and leadership to her new role.
Before joining Vivanta by Taj - Fisherman’s Cove, Aswini held several prominent positions. She served as Sous Chef at Vivanta by Taj, Shollinganallur, and also had a stint at the Grand Hyatt in Kerala. Her leadership abilities further extended to her role as Director of Operations at Green Lawn Hospitality Pvt Ltd, where she oversaw the operational efficiency and guest satisfaction of the hospitality company.
In addition to her work in operations, Aswini also has a deep commitment to mentoring and culinary education. She took on the role of Chef Consultant at Cynosure Hospitality Services in Bengaluru, where she helped shape and develop culinary strategies for businesses. She also served as a Lecturer at M/S Ramaiah University of Applied Science in Bengaluru, imparting her vast knowledge and passion for the culinary arts to aspiring chefs.
Earlier in her career, Aswini honed her skills at Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Bengaluru, progressing from Chef De Partie to Catering Sales Supervisor and Trainee CDP. Her versatility and talent for innovation allowed her to grow within the organization, mastering various facets of the culinary domain.
Aswini began her journey in the kitchen as a Commi 1 at Jaypee Hotels, and later as a Team Member at Ista Hotels. These early roles helped her build a strong foundation in hospitality and culinary excellence, which she has carried throughout her career.
Aswini’s academic background in culinary arts is equally impressive. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Culinary Arts from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad. Her strong educational foundation, paired with her practical experiences, has made her a well-rounded and highly respected chef in the industry.
Her new role as Sous Chef at Vivanta by Taj - Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai, will allow her to further showcase her culinary creativity and leadership, contributing to the hotel's renowned dining experiences.
