Citi Residenci Group of Hotels Welcomes Buddhadeb Chatterjee as Group Corporate Chef

Buddhadeb Chatterjee has recently been appointed as the Group Corporate Chef at The Citi Residenci Group of Hotels. In this role, he will manage the culinary operations for four MISE hotels, 15 QSR restaurants under the brand name "THEQUE," and the specialty Bengali restaurant chain "POTHER PANCHALI." Additionally, he is responsible for two upcoming hotels under the IHCL brand, a central bakery, and a central kitchen.


Prior to this, Chef Chatterjee served as Vice President at the India International Culinary & Hotelier's Forum, where he contributed to the organization's growth and represented the Indian division.


At DoubleTree by Hilton in Varanasi, he worked as the Culinary Director, leading the pre-opening of a 5-star deluxe property with 150 rooms and extensive banquet facilities. His responsibilities included overseeing culinary operations, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.


Chef Chatterjee also held the position of General Manager at KPS Group in Bhopal, MP, where he managed overall hotel operations and quality assurance. He worked as the Food and Beverage Director at V.N. Inn Pvt Ltd in Chhattisgarh, focusing on inventory management, baking, and new restaurant openings.


Earlier in his career, he was the Group Corporate Chef at Hotel, Restaurant & Catering in Durgapur, West Bengal, managing food safety, preparation, and banquet operations. At Rani Indian Bistro in Boston, USA, he was the Executive Chef, responsible for new menu development, branding, and maintaining high hygiene standards in compliance with HACCP guidelines.


Chef Chatterjee has also served as the Corporate Chef at JHV Construction Company Private Limited in Lucknow, where he managed food production, developed new dishes, and ensured culinary excellence. He was the Executive Chef at V.N. Inn Pvt Ltd (Hotel Ananda Imperial) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, overseeing the pre-opening of a 4-star deluxe hotel.


His earlier roles include Executive Trainer Chef at DSMS Groups of Company, Senior Sous Chef at Radisson Hotel in Chennai, and Sous Chef at Sarovar Groups. He started his career as a Management Trainee at Express Group of Hotels and later worked at Trident Hotels and UP Hotels Limited, Clarks Amer.


Chef Chatterjee holds a Hotel Management degree from IIAS Kolkata and a B.Com from Burdwan University. He completed a culinary course at City Guild University, London, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Hotel Management, with a research project on herbs as future ingredients for desserts and Nutronomix for children.


With his extensive experience in culinary management, menu development, and food safety, Chef Buddhadeb Chatterjee is poised to bring innovative and high-quality culinary experiences to The Citi Residenci Group of Hotels.
