His leadership and culinary management skills have been honed through various positions across India, where he has worked in diverse kitchens, developed innovative menus, and ensured high standards in food safety and quality.
Before joining Ramada by Wyndham Darjeeling, Debananda served as the Executive Chef at Sarovar Hotels & Resorts in Faridabad, where he played a pivotal role in the pre-opening phase of the property. His responsibilities included overseeing inventory control, purchasing kitchen equipment, managing budgets, and creating menus, while also hiring and training kitchen staff. His contribution during this time was critical in setting up a successful kitchen and maintaining efficient operations.
Debananda’s previous experience includes a two-year stint as Executive Chef at Royal Orchid Hotels in Ahmedabad, where he led a high-performing culinary team. His focus on menu development, kitchen remodeling, and ensuring top-notch service helped the hotel create memorable dining experiences. Prior to that, he worked at Regenta Resort in Bhuj, Gujarat, for over two years, where he led the kitchen team and drove culinary innovation.
His journey also includes roles at prestigious properties like Heritage Khirasara Palace, where he was the Executive Chef for over two years, and stints as Sous Chef and Head Chef at various hotels, further adding to his rich experience. His expertise spans a broad range of culinary fields, including food science, food preparation, and menu engineering, along with a deep understanding of kitchen and food safety management.
Debananda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sree Chaitanya College, Habra, where he was also an active participant in volleyball. His dedication to his craft, combined with his passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences, makes him an ideal fit for his new role at Ramada by Wyndham Darjeeling.
