Sodexo has recently appointed Gopi Nandakumar as the Head of Portfolio and Services, Pan India, based in Mumbai. With a rich and diverse background in the hospitality and food service industry, Gopi brings extensive experience and leadership skills to this key role. His vast knowledge of culinary arts, food and beverage management, and operations will be instrumental in enhancing Sodexo’s service portfolio across the country.


Before joining Sodexo, Gopi served as an Executive Chef at several prestigious Hyatt Regency locations, including Pune, Gurugram, Mumbai, Kathmandu, and Chennai. His tenure at Hyatt Regency Pune and Hyatt Regency Chennai also included significant pre-opening responsibilities, highlighting his ability to lead and launch new outlets and operations effectively.


Gopi’s experience extends to the Taj Group as well. He held a cluster role as Executive Chef at Taj Holiday Village, Goa, showcasing his ability to manage and oversee multiple properties and maintain high culinary standards. Additionally, he took on a dual role as Executive Chef and Head of F&B during the pre-opening of the Hyatt Regency Malayattoor Resort in Kochi.


His pre-opening expertise is further demonstrated in roles such as Chef De Cuisine at Hyatt Regency Chennai and Executive Chef at Heritage Park in Australia, where he was responsible for launching new outlets and ensuring seamless operations. Gopi also held corporate and consulting positions, notably with Tuscana and Kryptos by Willi in Chennai, where he played a crucial role in establishing the culinary identity of these brands.


Earlier in his career, Gopi worked as a Sous Chef at Taj Connemara, Chennai, and as a Senior Chef De Partie at Taj Blue Diamond, Pune, where he was involved in multiple pre-opening projects. His early experiences in pre-opening and managing kitchen operations laid the foundation for his later successes in leadership roles.


Gopi Nandakumar’s educational background includes a Diploma in Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (DHMCT) from the Asan Memorial Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Chennai. He completed his schooling at Nehru Government Higher Secondary School and Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School.


In his new role at Sodexo, Gopi will oversee the company’s portfolio and services across India, focusing on delivering high-quality solutions to clients and elevating operational excellence. His diverse background in both culinary arts and hospitality management positions him as a valuable asset to Sodexo's leadership team, ensuring growth and innovation in the company's service offerings.
