Honey Pepper Rose Petals by Chef Selva Kumar is a delicate fusion of floral sweetness and a hint of spice, offering a unique culinary experience.
Ingredients:
• Rose Petals (pieces) - 1 cup
• All-Purpose Flour - ½ cup
• Corn Flour - ½ cup
• Salt - To taste
• White Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
• Water - 1/4 cup
• Vinegar - 1 tbsp
• Soy Sauce - ½ tsp
• Honey - 2-3 tbsp
• Oil - For Frying
• Finely Chopped Garlic - ½ tsp
• Finely Chopped Green Chillies - ½
tsp
• Finely Chopped Onions - ½ tsp
• Sesame Seeds - ½ tsp
• Spring Onions (Optional) - 1 tsp
Directions:
1. Tear rose petals into pieces and
transfer them into a bowl.
2. Add all-purpose flour, corn
flour, and salt to the bowl and mix well to coat the rose petals. Transfer to a
plate.
3. In the leftover flour mixture,
add white pepper powder and water to make a slurry.
4. Coat the rose petals in the
slurry and deep fry in hot oil until crispy. Transfer to a plate.
5. In the leftover slurry, add
vinegar, soy sauce, white pepper powder, and honey. Mix well.
6. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic,
green chillies, and onions, and sauté until fragrant.
7. Add the all-purpose flour mixture
slurry and fried rose petals to the pan. Mix nicely and switch off the flame.
8. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish. Add spring onions for enhanced flavor if desired. Your honey pepper rose petals are now ready to serve.
