Marriott International is proud to welcome Mohammad Sahanawaj as the new Head of Catering Sales & Banquet Operations at their Mumbai property. Mohammad brings an impressive background in hospitality, with a proven track record of managing catering sales and banquet operations across leading hotel brands.


Prior to joining Marriott International, Mohammad held key positions at prestigious establishments. His journey began at Taj Hotels, where he completed his internship and vocational training in Food and Beverage. He later moved to Sayaji Hotels Ltd in Pune, where he held various roles, starting as a Hotel Operational Trainee and progressing to Captain and Executive in the Food and Beverage department. His leadership abilities led him to be promoted to Assistant Manager - Catering Sales at Sayaji.


Following this, Mohammad joined the Radisson Hotel Group in Udaipur and Pune, where he managed Catering Sales and was Outlet Manager - Food and Beverage. He also gained experience in banquet operations during his time at Sayaji Hotels Ltd as an Assistant Manager - Banquets.


With a robust educational background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition in Hajipur, and a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Travel Services Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Mohammad is well-equipped to lead the catering and banquet operations at Marriott International.


Mohammad’s wealth of experience and expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the guest experience and driving business growth for Marriott in Mumbai.
