JW Marriott Hotel Chandigarh is proud to announce the appointment of Rohit Kumar as its new Pastry Chef. With a stellar career in pastry arts spanning various renowned hospitality brands, Rohit brings an exceptional level of expertise and creativity to his new role. His appointment is set to enhance the hotel's bakery and dessert offerings, adding an innovative touch to the culinary experience.


Rohit joins JW Marriott Chandigarh from Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, where he held the position of Pastry Chef. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in developing the pastry division and creating delightful, visually appealing desserts that quickly became guest favorites. His culinary ingenuity and leadership skills were instrumental in elevating the dessert experience across the brand’s properties.


Prior to this, Rohit served as Pastry Sous Chef at Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Chandigarh. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing daily operations in the pastry kitchen, crafting signature cakes, desserts, and bakery items that impressed guests and reflected his refined techniques and creativity. His ability to balance traditional baking with modern trends has earned him recognition in the hospitality industry.


Rohit’s career trajectory also includes significant roles at top-tier establishments. He was the Junior Sous Chef/Pastry at Sofitel Mumbai, where his work in the pastry department showcased his expertise in dessert creation. He also served as Senior Chef De Partie/Pastry at The Oberoi Group in Chandigarh, demonstrating leadership and an eye for detail in every dessert he crafted. His previous experience as Demi Chef De Partie at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences in Gurugram further solidified his reputation as a skilled pastry artist.


Rohit's journey in the culinary world began with roles such as Kitchen Assistant at Trident Hotels, Jaipur, and an Industrial Trainee at ITC Hotels, Jaipur. These formative experiences allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of kitchen operations and fostered his passion for pastry arts.


At JW Marriott Hotel Chandigarh, Rohit Kumar will lead the pastry department, bringing a new level of innovation and quality to the hotel's dessert menu. His expertise in creating exquisite pastries, cakes, and bakery products is expected to significantly contribute to the hotel’s reputation for offering world-class dining experiences.
