Shivalik
Sunrise is a mocktail made with a unique blend of ingredients, with the
specialty being the incorporation of major ingredients sourced from Uttarakhand,
India. The drink features a base of Malta (Himalayan Orange) juice, a citrus
fruit cultivated in the hills of Uttarakhand. Malta is known for its rich
Vitamin C content and is utilized in various forms such as squash, juice, jam,
and marmalade. Additionally, the peel of Malta is used in facemasks for skin
ailments, while its seeds are employed in high-protein cattle feed and
fertilizers. Malta is believed to boost the immune system and is used in
treating conditions like pneumonia, blood pressure issues, stomach ailments,
and Vitamin C deficiency-related diseases.
Buransh (Rhododendron) syrup is
included as a minor ingredient. Buransh, a tree found in Himalayan districts
like India, Nepal, Bhutan, and China, holds significance as the national flower
of Nepal and the state tree and flower of Uttarakhand and Nagaland respectively
in India. Buransh syrup is valued for its antioxidant properties, offering
protection against sun damage and pollution. It also possesses
anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties beneficial for treating skin
