Sonu Kumar has been appointed as the Executive Housekeeper at Marriott International, Chennai. With a comprehensive background in housekeeping and hospitality management, Sonu brings a wealth of experience to his role, where he will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, guest comfort, and operational efficiency.
Before this, Sonu held multiple roles at Marriott International, including Executive Housekeeper and Manager at Four Points by Sheraton, where he served as Head of the Department (HOD). His leadership was pivotal in ensuring smooth housekeeping operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Sonu’s career journey includes his role as Housekeeping Supervisor at The Grand Bhagwati in Surat and Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited in Kodaikanal, where he honed his skills in team management and quality control. Earlier, he served as a Guest Services Associate at Marriott in Chennai and Godwin Pumps in Haridwar, demonstrating his ability to provide top-tier customer service in diverse settings.
His career began with an industrial traineeship at Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited in South Goa, where he gained valuable hands-on experience in hospitality operations.
Sonu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (BSCHMCTT) from Punjab Technical University and pursued art studies at Maharaja College, providing him with a well-rounded educational background.
In his new role at Marriott International, Chennai, Sonu Kumar will leverage his extensive experience to lead the housekeeping team, ensuring the property continues to meet and exceed guest expectations with impeccable service and attention to detail.
