Sunil Kumar Gangwal has been promoted to Cluster Director of Food & Beverage Operations at Surat Marriott Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott Surat. With a long-standing career in culinary arts and hospitality, Sunil's new role will involve overseeing the F&B operations across both properties, ensuring that the guest experience remains exceptional.
Sunil’s journey in the hospitality industry began after completing his education at the Institute of Hotel Management, Kovalam. He later pursued further studies with a PGDBA in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from Symbiosis International University, adding a strong managerial aspect to his culinary expertise.
Before this promotion, Sunil served as the Cluster Director of Culinary as well as Executive Chef. His leadership and culinary innovation played a significant part in enhancing the dining experiences at these hotels.
His previous experience includes a variety of prestigious positions at renowned hotels and resorts. Sunil has worked as Executive Chef at Marriott International, Ahmedabad, and Hilton Worldwide, Gurugram. He also served as Master Chef at Marriott Hotels, Jaipur. In pre-opening projects, Sunil led as Chef De Cuisine at Hyatt Regency, Gurugram, and Marriott Hotels, Jaipur, showcasing his ability to establish world-class culinary operations from the ground up.
Early in his career, Sunil worked as Banquet Chef at The Claridges Hotels & Resorts, New Delhi, and as Sous Chef at Westin Hotels & Resorts, Mumbai, during its pre-opening phase. His early foundational experience also includes roles as Junior Sous Chef and Senior Chef De Partie at Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, and as Junior Executive - Commi 1 in the pre-opening team at Aamby Valley City, Sahara India Flagship Project, Lonavala.
